The Scadata-Pac is a wireless communication device manufactured by SCADATA Scientific. The Scadata-Pac is a economical scalable system that can be applied for a point to point communication, or expanded to a central hub observing and /or controlling an unlimited number of remote sites. The system uses non-licensed radio as the primary means of communication but can also us static addressed ethernet connections, cellular, or licensed radio. Scadata Scientific has manufactured this system and successfully distributed it primarily in the Midwestern United States for a number of years. Precision Systems and its representative network took over national distribution and support of the Scadata-Pac product in September of 2010.
The Scadata-Pac contains two items, a RTU and a software Suite. The Scadata-Pac RTU is a hard wired device that can be installed by any qualified electrician. Float switches, VFD’s, etc., can all be wired directly into the RTU. It is equipped with 4 analog and digital inputs and 2 analog and digital outputs. Those inputs and outputs can be increased to an unlimited number with the addition of expansion modules at the site. Built into the RTU is a non-licensed radio that communicates via frequency hopping spread spectrum to maximize communication security and minimize interference. The RTU also includes a 4 hour battery to power the RTU in the event of a power outage. The Scadata-Pac software can be incorporated to monitor or control any connected process or device. Operating on a Windows based PC, the software incorporates all of the features that are needed and none that are not. Some of those features include:
Single screen to observe and acknowledge all alarms
Graphical display of monitored processes for trending
